All students who wish to enter Promontory School, whether new to the school or transferring from another charter or district school must enter Promontory through our lottery system. Promontory School does not charge an application fee.
The kindergarten lottery enrollment for the 2026-27 school year will open on December 1, 2025. The kindergarten lottery applications will be run on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at which point the lottery will be processed and seats will be awarded via email. Each student whose name went through the lottery will be awarded a spot on the waitlist. 50 new kindergarten students will be enrolled each year. Once you are emailed an offer, you have 5 days to accept the offer or it will be awarded to the next person on the waiting list.
The lottery enrollment for the 2026-27 school year will open up on February 2, 2026. 1st-8th grade lottery applications for the 2026-27 school year will be run on Thursday, April 16, 2026. The 1st-8th grade lottery will be processed at that time and seats will be awarded through email. Promontory will offer as many seats as it has available and can not predict how many that will be. Total enrollment for the school is as follows:

- 1st Grade - 50 Students
- 2nd Grade - 50 Students
- 3rd Grade - 50 Students
- 4th Grade - 50 Students
- 5th Grade - 50 Students
- 6th Grade - 50 Students
- 7th Grade - 50 Students

As students leave the school throughout the year for various reasons (their family relocates to a new city, etc) those open positions will be offered to the next person on that grade's specific waiting list. Once a student has been offered a position (done through email) they have five (5) days to accept the offer. If the offer is not accepted by the fifth day, Promontory can offer the spot to the next person on the waiting list. Once an offer has been accepted, the parent of the new student has seven (7) days to complete the registration process. If this process is not completed by the seventh day of acceptance, Promontory can offer the spot to the next person on the waiting list. If a student is offered a spot at Promontory and declines the offer but wishes to remain on the waiting list, they must reapply through the lottery system to be put back on the waiting list.
Important Note: You can still apply for future lottery positions after April 16, 2026 and the lottery will be processed each month, generally on the 3rd Thursday of the month. Students will be placed on the waiting lists behind people already assigned a waitlist number in previous lotteries.
