Teachers choose a topic for their community to study each semester. This topic is the community's "expedition."

An expedition is a long-term, in-depth study of a topic that offers real-world connections which inspire students toward higher levels of academic achievement.

These expeditions involve students in original research, critical thinking, problem solving, and they build character along with academic skills.
Through the use of these expeditions, all state curriculum standards are met through guiding questions, kickoff experiences, case studies, projects, lessons, fieldwork, visiting experts, and service learning.
The expedition culminates in a Celebration of Learning attended by parents and community members. High-quality student work is spotlighted at each celebration.
